Who went to Harold Geroge Brown’s 90th birthday party this past Saturday? He’s the owner of the Lucky Wishbone, which is one of Anchorage’s oldest family run businesses. Brown and his wife Peggy opened the restaurant 56 years ago. Talk about a cool, and well liked, guy. His goal was to get 90 hugs on Saturday–something he quickly surpassed. The restaurant was covered in balloons and packed with customers who came out to help celebrate the day. The waitresses dressed-up like flappers, a nice added touch. When my family got there the place was packed, but luckily we got seats pretty quickly. Alice is addicted to their french fries, and I’m in love with their cheeseburgers and fried chicken. The place screams “old Anchorage,” and that’s a great thing.

I love Lucky Wishbone! Wasn’t there for the celebration, but it sounded like a lot of fun..The burgers & chicken are yummy, and so are their strawberry milkshakes!
